Brookline Arts Center — Brookline, MA
Full-Time | On-Site
Salary: $55,000 annually


The Brookline Arts Center (BAC) seeks an Education & Program Coordinator to support the planning and delivery of educational programming and community partnerships while assisting with exhibitions and public events.

Reporting to the Executive Director, this role coordinates classes and workshops, supports faculty, assists in exhibition logistics, and represents BAC through community partnerships and outreach initiatives. The position plays a key role in ensuring programs run smoothly while expanding access to arts education throughout Greater Boston.



Responsibilities

Program Coordination & Production
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for seasonal classes and workshops
  • Support development and implementation of new educational programs
  • Coordinate faculty needs and classroom logistics to ensure successful program delivery
  • Coordinate partnership programs with schools and community organizations
  • Assist in planning program timelines, logistics, and seasonal production schedules
  • Provide on-site support for classes, workshops, and public programs
  • Monitor and oversee Open Studios program for Ceramics and Jewelry studios.
  • Monitor enrollment and program feedback to support program evaluation and improvement

Community Engagement & Partnerships
  • Coordinate off-site workshops, outreach programs, and partnership initiatives
  • Represent BAC at community fairs, festivals, and outreach events
  • Maintain and strengthen partnerships with schools, community organizations, and local institutions
  • Identify opportunities for new collaborative community programming
  • Coordinate faculty participation in outreach initiatives
  • Ensure off-site programs are staffed and equipped for success
  • Assist with community engagement efforts that expand access to arts education
  • Participate in community meetings and partnership discussions as needed

Exhibitions & Events Support
  • Assist with exhibition scheduling and logistics
  • Support installation and deinstallation of exhibitions
  • Provide support for receptions and exhibition events as needed

Operations Support
  • Oversee studio readiness in coordination with the Art Studio Technician
  • Coordinate supply and operational needs with studio staff
  • Support safe and efficient studio operations

(Direct inventory ordering primarily falls under the Art Studio Technician role; this position oversees coordination.)



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, arts education, or equivalent experience preferred
  • At least one year of experience in an arts organization, studio, or gallery environment supporting educational programming
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Collaborative team player with a positive attitude
  • Appreciation for arts education and community programming

Physical Requirements

  • Comfortable remaining stationary and working on a computer for prolonged periods
  • Possess the mobility necessary to work in an art studio or office setting and use office equipment
  • Able to understand printed materials and to see, listen, and talk for extended periods in person, over the telephone, and via computer
  • Able to lift up to 15 pounds, push and pull, keyboard and grip
  • Able to exchange accurate information with instructors and staff

Schedual and Work Environment

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, on-site position in Brookline. Evening and weekend hours are occasionally required for programs and events.
